Position Summary The role of Financial Analyst has two primary functions. The first is to support and assist the Controller in executing the financial accounting and reporting responsibilities. The second is to analyze/mine/re-model the financial information to support and improve management decision making. While the former will require more traditional accounting skills and training the latter will require a self-starter with the ability to dig into and behind financial and operational information and work with various groups across the company.   • Assist in the processing of financial statements
  • Various Traditional accounting responsibilities, including bank reconciliations, GJ entries, reporting, reconciliation of GL accounts, and various A/R & A/P assisted functions.
  • Analyze and report on weekly, monthly variances.
  • Development and maintenance of financial analysis models and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Audited financial statements.
  • Assist with the preparation, analysis and reporting of key financial performance metrics for internal departments.
  • Data extraction, mining and validation from accounting and other systems in order to create ad hock reporting and analysis for Executive Group, Controller, Management Teams.
  • Ensure financial integrity of information being presented.
  • Provide support and supervision to the Accounts Payable Coordinator
  • Assist in the training and performance evaluation of your direct report


  • Position Requirements

    Requirements

    Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting, minimum 3 rd year CPA
    3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in financial analysis, including modeling, reporting, budgeting & forecasting. Knowledge of SQL Reporting considered an asset.
    Demonstrated willingness to be adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
    Top notch Excel skills
    Preference to candidates with Viewpoint construction software experience

    Work Conditions

    Manual dexterity required to operate computer and peripherals
    Interacts with employees, various management levels and the public at large
    Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
    Repetitive work
