Job Overview



The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Senior Financial Analyst in completing required accounting transactions and activities to support the financial reporting and cash management processes. This position collaborates with the Senior Financial Analyst to address a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger accounts preparation and reconciliation, daily cash flow management & forecast activities and support the financial reporting process and entering of invoices.

Responsibilities and Duties



Cash flow reporting - Responsible for creating and maintaining daily cash flow report and notes scheduling to the Senior Financial Analyst for approval. Obtain downloaded bank transactions from both bank accounts Import data into existing templates for reconciliation Clear all daily cashed cheques from our system Categorize expenses and receipts accordingly and input onto the cash file Update the notes schedule for monthly loan payments accordingly Send completed cash file for review and approval Capital Assets Reporting - Responsible for recording monthly fixed capital assets and updating fixed asset depreciation schedule on excel: o Assist in recording monthly journal reclassing entries of invoices improperly applied to expense accounts o Update monthly invoices throughout all our general ledger asset grouping accounts onto our depreciation schedule o Compile monthly depreciation into a journal entry and confirm totals on entry match with total on schedule Journal Entry Reporting - Recording manual entries as requested by the Senior Financial Analyst or VP Financial Reporting such as but not limited to: Capital purchases, Various bank account transactions, month-end entries such as group insurance, interest & service charges, and bonus & tire accruals. Account reconciliations - Responsible for preparation of the monthly account reconciliations to be reviewed by the Senior Financial Analyst Confirmation of month-end balance for most account reconciliations Downloading all monthly transactions through our transaction log while categorizing and matching items together Compiling list of unreconciled items to be investigated and send to the Senior Financial Analyst for analysis PAD Payments - Process daily PADs from our disbursement accounts and update listing of payments on PAD schedule Retrieve invoices through vendor portals Download invoices onto our archiving software Send invoices to Senior Financial analyst for approval and coding Entering of invoices into our in-house system for payment & record payment Financing Agreements - Creation of new equipment financing/loans from our various lenders: Creation of new general ledger loan (using our numbering and description format) into both our in-house system and SAGE Record journal entry of financing received if necessary Update files of amortization & equipment financing list to upload into system Create new loan both in system and in SAGE and upload necessary data to setup payments Adhoc reporting as required

Qualifications



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



3-5 years of related work experience Bachelor of Accounting, or working towards a CPA(Accounting) designation or equivalent preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS



Ability to read and interpret documents such as accounting publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before fellow employees and with external vendors and customers. Exceptional ability to build rapport and partnerships with team members High degree of proficiency in MS Office Applications notably Excel, and data management Knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred but not mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
