Job Description

Financial Aid Counseling and Application:



Provide Guidance: Offer comprehensive counseling to both prospective and current students regarding financial aid options. Assistance with Applications: Assist students in completing financial aid applications and other necessary forms, submit supporting documents accurately. Evaluate Eligibility: Assess students' financial aid eligibility based on various factors and guidelines. Explain Options: Clarify the different financial aid options available, such as grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study programs, where applicable.

Collaboration with Financial Aid Departments:



Confirmation of Enrollments: Maintain communication with financial aid departments across all provinces to confirm students' enrollments and ensure timely processing of financial aid. Payment Coordination: Collaborate closely with financial aid departments to facilitate payments for students' financial aid packages, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the disbursement process.

Financial Planning:



Personalized Plans: Develop personalized financial plans tailored to each student's needs and circumstances for direct students Financial Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to determine students' financial resources and budgeting requirements. Expense Management: Provide guidance on managing educational expenses effectively, including tuition, fees, and living expenses. Financial Literacy: Offer advice and resources on financial literacy topics to help students make informed decisions.

Regulatory Compliance:



Stay Informed: Keep abreast of federal and provincial financial aid policies and regulations in Canada to ensure compliance. Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations governing financial aid programs. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential student financial records in line with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.

Student Support:



Primary Contact: Act as the main point of contact for students seeking financial aid assistance. Address Inquiries: Respond promptly and professionally to student inquiries and concerns related to financial aid.

Education & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Education, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience in student services, financial aid, admissions, or customer support is an advantage. Background in working with CRM systems or student information systems (SIS) preferred.

Knowledge & Skills



Strong understanding of financial aid processes, student loan programs, and scholarship requirements (training can be provided). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with students, parents, and internal teams. High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation abilities. Ability to analyze financial documents and assess eligibility based on guidelines. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and comfortable learning new systems. Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
