Position Description
This position reports to the President & CEO and has the primary fiscal responsibility for the company, including accounting, finance, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Represent Delta's core values of Integrity, Service and Quality in relationships with both internal staff members and external customers and suppliers.
Follow Delta Elevator policies and procedures and Employee Handbook guidelines.
Provide strategic input to the President, including financial analysis and reporting.
Lead, motivate, and coach the Finance Team (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting).
Develop, implement, and administer financial management and financial performance measurements policies, systems, and programs.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly and annual financial reporting.
Co-ordinate year-end working papers preparation and work with external accountants.
Ensure the accuracy, security, proper storage, back-up and recovery, and integrity of financial records, information, and reports through good accounting procedures and adequate internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and with tax regulations.
Source and analyze financing, capital, foreign exchange, hedging, and investing.
Monitor and analyze periodic (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) operating results.
Provide accounting support services to other company departments.
Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education in a related field.
Current professional accounting designation (CPA).
Two - five years of management experience in a financial role.
Creating positive employee engagement and leading teams.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
Effective communication.
Conflict-resolution and mediation.
Experienced negotiator.
Exceptional skills in mathematical concepts.
Proficient with MS Excel.
Detail orientation.
Ethical judgment.
