is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Mississauga, ON on a 12 month temporary contract.


Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant the Financial Accountant will deliver financial and management reporting support to the Lycopodium Americas entities and work in close collaboration with the Senior Financial Accountant.

The tasks you'll perform



Monthly closing of subledgers including AP, AR, and project billing with high degree of accuracy and completeness. Monthly reconciliation of Bank accounts and balance sheet accounts. Assist in timely and accurate preparation of the Lycopodium Americas entities' monthly profit & loss and balance sheet reports. Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in liaison with auditors, CRA, other corporate statutory bodies and responding to queries and notices. Prepare and file monthly WSIB, HST, Payroll Tax, EHT, expats remittances and other statutory obligations. Assist Senior Financial accountant in treasury management including assessing working capital requirements, preparing cash flow forecast and assessing any short-term risk-free investment opportunities. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset register for Lycopodium Americas. Assist in Annual income tax, WSIB and EHT returns. Maintain consistent coordination with local consultants/ accountant for onshore project activities i.e. invoicing, accounts payable and local compliances. Provide timely information to local payroll service provider to make sure site-based staff (expats and in-country nationals) are paid in time. Maintain and develop professional knowledge including any changes in accounting standards, financial regulations and legislation. Assist with other general accounting and statutory duties, as directed, to enable the smooth operation of the Lycopodium Americas finance Group function.

Strong analytical and reasoning skills. Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility, integrity, credibility, and commitment. General understanding of the reconciliation and transactional process. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multiple tasks and priorities to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, co-workers, and group heads. Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills. Efficient utilization of available technologies, understanding of ERP system and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision with consistently high degree of accuracy and producing a high quality of deliverables. High attention to detail. Proficient understanding of business acumen with the ability to adapt to different business environments.
