The Opportunity:

As a Finance Analyst with a focus on hog production data, you will have an opportunity to step into an exciting role that works with a high-performance finance team and partners closely with all levels of the business. This position is responsible for reconciling, analyzing and reporting production results and investigates variances. This position is also responsible for executing standard control processes and ensuring accuracy of KPI reporting related to their area. Working with a team of supportive and encouraging peers, our work crosses functional units within the business and allows you to see all aspects of Maple Leaf Agri Farms' operations and to interact with people at various levels throughout the organization.

Some of the exciting things you will be responsible for:

  • Complete the review and reconciliation of completed hog work orders
  • Investigate variances, determine root causes, analyze production trends, and recommend actions to minimize/improve
  • Ensure hog sales and purchases are transacted accurately
  • Monthly inventory reconciliation
  • Provide complete information for period end accruals
  • Assist in the preparation of bonus calculations
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes
  • Ensure compliance with Maple Leaf reporting and financial analysis processes and execute testing as required
  • Provide coverage for finance team members, as required
  • Continuous improvement projects and other projects, as assigned

What you will bring:
Technical must haves include:
  • Post-Secondary Education in a finance/business related program (or a relevant combination of education and experience) is required
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of SAP and experience in hog production or manufacturing are assets
