Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the company - working with external accountants and consultants as needed - covering U.S. & Canadian taxes, WSIB premiums, U.S. state sales taxes, transfer pricing, AP/AR, general cash flow management, affiliate payments and expense reimbursements.
The role is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
Responsibilities
Excellent organizational skills
Coordinate the creation and sharing of financial reports periodically
Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, models and systems
Expert knowledge in finance and accounting procedures and regulations
Strong analytical and leadership skills
Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
Exceptional reporting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Quickbooks Online
Manage payroll and expense payments
Work with Canadian and U.S. accountants and consultants for regulatory and financial filings and compliance
Oversee and manage procedures and systems of the company's accounting and finance
Additional Responsibilities:
Tax planning for founders
External investments and acquisitions
Company valuations
Managing foreign exchange
Planning for getting loans and additional capital for inventory purchases
Additional tasks as assigned
Required experience
Five years of experience with accounting, budgeting, auditing, financial planning, and related tasks.
Two to three years of experience leading a team, preferably in a financial office environment.
Solid experience with financial regulatory and tax filing requirements in Canada and the U.S.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
Proven experience in finance management or a similar role with a strong understanding of financial services.
Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, cost management, account reconciliation, and risk management practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively.
Proficient in financial software applications like Quickbooks Online.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
