POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Administration, the Finance Manager is responsible for leading and directing the daily operations of the Finance Department. The Finance Manager is also responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, administrative and personnel services to meet organizational requirements and support operations. Must be willing to relocate to Sioux Lookout, ON.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post Secondary education in the field of accounting, and an accounting designation would be an asset or pursuing designation.
• Ability to work independently and is self-motivated.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and supervisory skills.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to converse in Ojibway and/or Oji-Cree would be an asset.
• Must have a valid driver\'s license.
• Must be able to travel as requested.
• Must be able to pass criminal records check and drug test.
• Must be aware of the cultural environment in which Tikinagan Child and Family Services operate.
• Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
• Must be able to analyze and report financial and statistical Information on a timely basis.
• Must be responsible and be able to encourage people and improve system and manual workflow processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inform the Director of Finance & Administration of issues which affect the operations of the Finance Unit.
• Ensures that Organizational policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, ensuring efficient and accurate operations.
• Provide leadership and supervision to finance staff and analyzes the workplace situation to create means to increase employee efficiency.
• Ensures that all financial reporting obligations are met in relation to submissions for funding, for grant aid, for contracts and any other initiatives.
• Supervises and audits all payables and receivables accounting functions ensuring correct account and output distribution and ensures all support documentation is accurate and in order.
• Prepares and reviews financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports which summarize the financial position in areas of income, expenses, cash flow, and projected expenditures.
• Under minimal supervision performs complex assignments and fulfills broad responsibilities where required outcomes are defined, but methods and procedures may vary based on professional judgment or precedent. Confers with Finance Controller on unusual matters.
• Coordinates the work of others on projects and assigns work to and assists less experienced finance staff.
• Works cooperatively with outside resources as directed.
• Performs regular performance evaluations of designated finance staff members.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Controller
• Ensures confidentiality when required.

we serve are safe and that the staff we hire don\'t pose any risks to clients.
One of the measures we take is ensuring new staff provide a criminal background check.
