Job Overview


The Ojibway Nation of Saugeen is seeking a highly organized and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial and administrative and accounting functions of all administration programs and services. The Finance Manager will ensure that all financial activities are carried out in compliance with applicable laws, funding agreements, and internal financial policies. This position plays a key leadership role in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and supporting community development goals through sound fiscal management.

Responsibilities



Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general leger Prepare monthly, quartly, and annual financial statements and reports for Chief and Counsil Oversee the preparation of budgets in collaboration with the Band Manager Monitor financial transicatiosn to ensure compliance with ISC funding agreements. Band finance policy, and application regulations Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile bank accounts Support annual audits by preparing necessary document and liaising with auditors Provide finical advice, forecasts, and analysists to Chief and Council to support strategic decision making Develop and maintain internal financial controls, procedures, and reposting systems Coordiante with external agencies, funding bodies and partners as required

Qualifications



Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, buisness administration, or related field Minium 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably withing a First Nation of public-sector environment Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and audit practices Proficiency with accounting software, Adagio, Microsoft Office applications Experience with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) funding process is a strong asset Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills Ablity to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in financial management CPA or equivalent designation (or working towards one) considered an asset
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
