Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in daily store management, supervising staff, and maintaining operational standards to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.

Duties

Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Support sales initiatives through effective merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and deliver outstanding customer service Manage payroll, scheduling, and staffing needs; participate in recruiting and training new employees Handle cash register operations, POS systems, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately Monitor inventory levels; assist with purchasing decisions and stock replenishment Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and health regulations Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and staff development activities Implement marketing strategies to increase store visibility and customer engagement Maintain organized records of sales, expenses, and administrative documentation

Qualifications

Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, merchandising, and pricing strategies Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience with recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff Knowledge of budgeting, sales management, marketing, and store operations Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and customers Administrative experience including bookkeeping and payroll management Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, handle customer service issues professionally, and maintain high standards of store presentation Strong math skills for pricing calculations and financial recordkeeping Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with customers and team members alike
