need for a Finance Manager. This role is responsible for the preparation and delivery of financial statements as well as the supervision and management of the accounting department.
Please note - this position can be filled in either Dartmouth, Nova Scotia OR St. John's, Newfoundland.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do
Coordinate month-end close process so that financial statement preparation can commence
Review and prepare monthly management accounting for Project Managers
Provide support and guidance to the accounting department
Monitor the status of accounts receivable collections and aged receivables balances
Ensure financial variance reports are disseminated on a monthly basis
Identify savings opportunities and/or consider costs that would be risked
Coordinator preparation of annual budget and provide guidance to budget holders
Develop a system of continuous improvement for the budget and ensure it is accurate and simple to interpret
Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet
Ensure that HST, Payroll Burdens, and Non-Resident withholding filing requirements are filed accurately and on time
Complete periodic review of accounts and account groups in ERP to ensure logical flow of information for financial reporting
Perform annual performance management reviews
QUALIFICATIONS:
Your background
Bachelor's degree in Finance or relevant field
Professional accounting designation or CFA required
MBA considered an asset
Minimum 7 years of experience in an analytical role, with experience preparing financial statements
Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role with relevant experience supervising through performance management systems
