THE TEAM

The objective of the Tax Department is to strategically minimize Aritzia's tax risk & cost

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is experiencing exponential growth, and our Tax team is growing with it! As a member of the Tax Department, you will be part of the team responsible for the strategic management of Aritzia's tax planning, compliance, and external audit management. As the Manager, Indirect Tax, you will manage all areas of indirect taxes, particularly US state and local taxes for both Retail and eCommerce sales channels. You will be responsible for the research of applicable legislation, preparation and/or review of Indirect tax returns, to the facilitation of external audits. THE ROLE

As the Manager, Indirect Tax, you will:

• Research and document indirect tax issues arising from expansion into new tax jurisdictions
• Review and or/prepare working papers and supporting documentation for returns filed and positions taken
• Partner with IT to implement legislative changes to impacted business units
• Review and or/prepare sales and use tax returns in domestic and international jurisdictions where business is conducted
• Review calculation and reporting of use taxes on tangible personal property by tax jurisdiction
• Respond to government notices from filing jurisdictions
• Review and/or prepare various indirect tax returns, and reconcile and remit indirect taxes to applicable jurisdiction
• Effectively manage external tax regulatory audits
• Assist with systems and technology implementation for process improvements
• Respond to ad-hoc tax inquiries from the business
• Assist with special projects and other duties as needed

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Manager, Indirect Tax has:

• Proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in:

• Significant relevant experience in US indirect tax
• Experience in Canada indirect tax and accounting background preferred
