Finance Manager

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Finance Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys contributing across multiple areas of the business. While the core focus will be financial leadership and oversight, you will also support HR, Sales, and Operations as a key partner to management.
This is a critical position that will provide financial stewardship, ensure compliance, and support the company's continued growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll.
• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to provide timely and accurate insights to the leadership team.
• Manage year-end audits, tax filings, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Partner with department heads in HR, Sales, and Operations to provide financial guidance and operational support.
• Develop and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to support scalability.
• Prepare management reports, cash flow analysis, and board-ready financial packages.
• Support strategic decision-making through financial modeling and scenario planning.
• Mentor and develop junior finance staff (if applicable) while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or related roles, ideally including exposure to manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or cannabis.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
• Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute outside of finance when needed.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
