We are looking for a dedicated Finance Manager, Costing to oversee and refine cost management strategies within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting efforts, and contribute to decision-making processes that drive operational efficiency. The position is based 100% ON SITE in London, Ontario, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's financial performance.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enhance cost accounting systems to ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting.
  • Analyze production costs, material usage, and labour efficiency to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and supply chain, to control cost drivers and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost reports and manufacturing KPIs to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, providing insights on cost projections and variances.
  • Conduct cost simulations for new product development and process changes to support pricing strategies.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements to optimize operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, inventory valuation practices, and company policies.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to finance staff and other team members.
  • Maintain adherence to health and safety policies while performing all responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Accounting designation (CPA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, variance analysis, and standard costing methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (experience with Business Central is an asset).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • A proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving processes.
