GGFI Law is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a contract basis to cover a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial management expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced professional environment. Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage regular financial tasks, including issuing cheques, account reconciliations and vendor payments
Maintain trust and general accounting records in compliance with Law Society regulations
Support real estate closings by processing trust deposits, issuing wire transfers, posting transactions in Soluno, and coordinating with the real estate team to ensure timely and accurate fund disbursement
Oversee GIC setup and redemptions in coordination with financial institutions and lawyers
Approve and process wire transfers and other firm-wide payments
Support year-end financial activities, including reporting for professional corporations and external accountants
Prepare and review financial reports and budgets
Assist with regulatory filings such as the Law Society Annual Report and insurance renewals
Maintain accounting software access, settings, and user permissions
Provide backup support to general accounting team functions as needed
Other tasks and duties as required by the firm
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience working as a Finance Manager or similar role
Maintain confidentiality of financial and firm information
Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Soluno and QuickBooks is an asset)
Experience in a law firm is a strong asset
CPA designation is an asset
Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
