The Opportunity



We are seeking a Finance Manager to provide financial leadership to our portfolio companies, oversee full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping functions across the group, and support investment due diligence and portfolio management. This role will act as a fractional controller or accountant (as needed) for select portfolio companies, ensuring strong financial governance while also assisting the partnership in evaluating new investment opportunities and tracking portfolio performance. This role will also assist the partners with office management, business development, and community outreach, including helping to plan regular networking events, while participating in general administrative efforts as needed.

Key Responsibilities



Financial Leadership & Group Oversight



Lead financial management and reporting for Lamont Brown Group and its portfolio companies. Ensure timely and accurate full-cycle accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation. Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures across the group. Act as a fractional controller or accountant for portfolio companies as needed, providing oversight and guidance on financial operations. Work closely with portfolio company management teams to enhance financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Investment Due Diligence & Portfolio Management



Support the partnership in evaluating potential investments by conducting financial due diligence, assessing risks, and analyzing financial models. Assist in structuring investment transactions and monitoring post-investment performance. Develop and maintain financial dashboards to track portfolio company performance and key financial metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial returns and mitigate risks within the portfolio.

Strategic Financial Planning & Reporting



Prepare consolidated financial reports and analysis for the Lamont Brown Group partnership. Assist in financial planning, tax strategy coordination, and cash flow management across the group. Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors, and financial institutions as required. Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.

Qualifications & Experience



5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or investment finance. Experience in a family office, private equity, or investment firm is an asset. Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with full-cycle accounting. Proven ability to provide financial leadership to small and mid-sized operating companies. Experience with full cycle accounting in a manufacturing business is an asset. Experience in financial due diligence, investment analysis, and portfolio tracking is an asset. Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools; experience with ERP/accounting software is an asset.
