At United Way British Columbia (UWBC), we strengthen vital connections that support people in need across the province. As our Finance Manager, you'll lead day-to-day financial operations in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and donor processing to deliver timely, accurate reporting, and coach a talented team so leaders and programs have the trusted financial insights they need to make a difference.

You'll be the bridge between financial stewardship and community impact to ensure funds are accounted for with integrity, audits run smoothly, and departments can clearly understand and act on their numbers.

What you'll do


------------------

Lead financial reporting & controls: Own full-cycle accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, monthly/quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. Steer audits & compliance: Coordinate annual audit working papers; ensure CRA compliance and filings (e.g., T3010).
Advance donor & grant finance: Oversee donor services financial operations, restricted fund accounting, tax receipting, and CRM-to-GL integration (SalesforceSage Intacct). Partner across departments: Collaborate with program and operations leaders to clarify budgets and meet government contract reporting requirements. Coach & develop the team: Build capability across AR/AP and donor processing, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Drive process excellence: Streamline workflows and system use (Sage Intacct, ADP Workforce Now) to reduce close time and improve data quality.

What you bring


------------------

Education & Credentials: Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting (CPA preferred or in progress). Experience: 7+ years in accounting/finance (non-profit experience an asset), with audit coordination and monthly reporting. Leadership: Proven ability to coach teams and build accountable culture. Technical acumen: Advanced Excel; experience with ERP/CRM (Sage Intacct, Salesforce, ADP Workforce Now). Communication: Ability to translate financials for non-financial audiences; collaborative style aligned with UWBC's values.

Salary: $111,180.00 - $117,720.00. Benefits: Extended health & dental, Municipal Pension Plan, generous vacation and personal days, office closure between Christmas and New Years
