About the role
We are currently looking for a temporary Finance Coordinator with a "can-do" attitude! Someone who is comfortable diving into audit prep as they are managing day-to-day financial transactions.
The Finance Coordinator will assist the Finance and Accounting team in delivering services across the organization and provide essential support handling tasks related to full-cycle accounting, budget preparation, financial reporting and records management. The incumbent will provide hands-on support for a wide range of finance functions, including accounts payable and receivable, expense reconciliation and audit coordination.
The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining the financial integrity of our organization. This role is essential in supporting our financial operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory, policy and legal requirements.
This is a temporary position with a start date of November 1, 2025 and a tentative end date of April 30, 2026.
What you'll do
The Finance Coordinator will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Performing full-cycle accounting in accordance with standards for not-for-profit organizations
Preparing and coordinating the annual audit in compliance with CHF BC's auditors
Assisting in preparation of CHF BC's annual budget
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including coding, reporting and payment distribution of customer invoices
Preparing expense reports for corporate credit cards and reconciling monthly statements
Reconciling employee expense reports and coordinating payments
Reviewing and reconciling group buying accounts and coordinating monthly invoicing with program administrators
Performing additional related duties as assigned
What you bring
Minimum of three (3) years of accounting and finance experience, equivalent to an Intermediate Accountant
Post-secondary degree in accounting or a combination of education and relevant experience
Currently pursuing an accounting designation or are recently designated
Proficient with Microsoft Office and previous experience with SAP, QuickBooks, and Sage300
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of integrity
Strong organizational skills and follow-through
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience in non-profit accounting/finance within a non-profit organization in BC would be considered an asset
