This is a temporary full-time position to cover a maternity leave (approximately 12 months).

Community Leader / Executive Director

L'Arche Ottawa is seeking a dynamic, compassionate and professional individual who, as Finance Coordinator, will be responsible for all financial aspects of its management with perspective of enlarged career and mission. They will work under the supervision of the Community Leader, in collaboration with the leadership team, and other Coordinators and with regular interactions with the House Leaders and Assistants. L'Arche Ottawa is a not-for-profit organization, essentially funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).

Location

: Multiple locations including our office located in the Nepean district of Ottawa, Ontario, with the flexibility to travel and work remotely to support other agencies.

Major Duties and responsibilities



Participate in the preparation, discussion and submission of the annual budget, and report regularly to the board and to MCCSS; Establish all financial statements and reports, analyze the budget of operations of services and projects, and gives recommendations to Community Leader; Coordinate fiscal year-end audit preparation; Support House Leaders, Program Leaders, and others as requested to effectively manage finances, creating and distributing guidelines and best practices; Meet regularly with Coordinators to review and discuss Budget to Actuals and reforecasting activities Management of Cash Flow and Banking relationship Assist in payroll processes, working collaboratively with HR on changes, calculations, and reconciliations, including EHT reporting Oversee HST reporting Collaborate with the Coordinator responsible and assist in managing employees' benefits including quarterly review and updates within ADP; Participate in organizational training, meetings and workshops when required; Weekly review of AP system and ensure payments are being issued regularly and accurately Other duties as requested by Executive Director.

Qualifications and skills:

Post secondary degree with training and experience in finance management and accounting Strong administrative and computer skills, proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, data bases such as Access, and SAGE (Simply Accounting), QuickBooks Familiarity with ADP Payroll software Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task and work independently Team spirit, ability to collaborate with a different set of stakeholders, members and colleagues Ability to set priorities and follow-through in a timely way. Good judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information in a diplomatic, professional and tactful manner Good ability to express and write in English, and capacity to understand and express in French. Bilingualism would be an asset. Interest for L'Arche Ottawa's mission and principles; Previous experience in L'Arche or in MCCSS funded agencies would be an asset. * Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening will be requested.
