The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the account payable tasks, credit card reconciliations, month end entries and other projects assigned by the Finance Manager. This individual has a solid understanding of accounting practices such as accruals, journal entries and e-filing. Must have excellent time management skills.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will report to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities



Monitor the Support Ticket System for accounting requests Daily invoice checking for accuracy and anomalies Match and verify invoices to corresponding bank and credit card charges
Daily and weekly reconciliations

Assist agents with accounting queries

Assist manager in month-end closing duties

Follow all aspects of month end close activities to meet deadlines

Monitor daily bank balances and credit card usage Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
Prepare and submit monthly Agent commission payments

Handle special projects, responsibilities and other duties as assigned by Management

Desired Skills and Experience



2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable

Intermediate to advance skills in Microsoft Excel

Experience with Trams and Quickbooks are preferred but not required.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Strong communication (both verbal and written), and analytical skills

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks, likely with competing priorities

Strong time management skills

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing e-files and e-records

Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality

An organized self-starter who is able to work independently

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment

Qualifications/Requirements



Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and attention to detail Experience with Trams and QuickBooks an asset Strong team player and able to work well under pressure with deadlines. Travel Industry experience an asset. Sense of humour and overall awesomeness!

Pay: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
