Secwepemc Child and Family Services Agency (SCFSA) is a progressive and

outstanding practice to First Nations families residing in the communities of



the seven

member bands; Adams Lake, Bonaparte, Neskonlith, Simpcw,



Skeetchestn, Tk'emlups te Secwepemc, and Whispering Pines/Clinton and



who reside in Kamloops.

protection casework.



Job Summary


The Finance Associate provides professional Accounts Payable and Payroll services ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time and that vendors are paid for the services contracted. The
Associate must be able to verify information and process payments following appropriate protocols as errors can cause significant consequences, the Finance Associate requires accuracy and attention to detail. The
Associate interacts with a large group of employees and vendors requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.

Qualifications



Education and Experience



High School diploma or equivalent One to two years' experience in accounting and administration; Experience and knowledge of local First Nations communities and their needs is an asset.

Skills and Abilities



Understanding of accounting practices and office procedures/equipment Ability to work independently and build effective interpersonal relationships Proficient in Accounting Software (Adagio and Pay Dirt preferred), Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), and Adobe Acrobat; Ability to self-regulate, meet deadlines, have attention to detail Prioritizes work assignments to balance multiple demands Demonstrates a strong understanding of and respect for cultural diversity, particularly Indigenous culture.

Working Conditions



Travel to multiple locations will be required; Hours of work may be nonstandard and connected to services and community needs; Receives regular supervision with direction and checks of the work performed.

Conditions of Employment



Must be able to obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check; Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class 5 or Class 7 (N) BC Driver's License Must provide a vehicle in good operating condition and appropriate insurance to meet program requirements;
