Summary



We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support for our financial operations at The Kinder Garden Children's Centre in Angus. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth management of our financial processes, contributing directly to our mission of delivering high-quality early education.
As a Finance Assistant at our child care facility, you will support accurate and timely financial operations, contributing to smooth accounting processes and compliance. You'll work closely with the Director and assist in maintaining sound financial practices.

Key Responsibilities:



Process invoices, payments, and HST submissions with accuracy. Record transactions and handle general ledger postings. Assist in month-end and audit preparations. Maintain organized financial records and filing systems. Serve as a point of contact for vendors and clients regarding billing. Uphold internal financial controls and compliance with funding regulations. Assist in managing financial records and transactions. Support the preparation of budgets and financial reports. Process invoices and payments accurately and timely. Maintain financial software systems for efficient data management. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies. Provide administrative support related to finance as needed. Assist in audits and financial reviews as required.

Qualifications:



Qualifications

Proven experience with financial software and accounting principles. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus. Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. 1-3 years' experience in bookkeeping or financial support roles. Proficient with accounting software and Excel. Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of wage grants, funding lines and reconciliation reports Vulnerable Sector Check required.
