Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This long-term contract position offers a dynamic work environment where you will manage the bookkeeping needs of a small yet thriving organization. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong attention to detail and expertise in financial processes, including payroll, taxation, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage HST, GST, and other taxation requirements with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with external contract associates to address and resolve financial matters.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Conduct month-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and reported appropriately.
  • Provide support for financial audits and ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Monitor and implement new rules and regulations impacting financial operations.
  • Maintain open communication with the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
  • Use intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze and present financial data effectively.
  • 3-5+ years of Accounting & Finance experience required
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, payroll processes, taxation, and financial regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Ability to work independently and proactively address financial matters
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
