The Finance Analyst - Child and Family Development is responsible for regional subsidy reconciliation with the registration system, Licensed Home Child Care (LHCC) programs monthly reconciliation, balance sheet GL reconciliations. The Finance Analyst also prepares audit files, supporting documents, and supports the Senior Financial Analyst with reviewing new and amended contracts. The Finance Analyst, in collaboration with Finance management, establishes best practices, to ensure adherence to regulatory and YMCA guidelines.


In this role, you will:




Performs monthly reconciliation of Regional Subsidy invoices with the registration system Performs quarterly reconciliation of registration system balance sheet GLs (Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue) Performs monthly reconciliation of childcare program fee revenue by age groups Prepares monthly reconciliations for Licensed Home Child Care (LHCC) programs, including CWELCC, LHCC Subsidy, and other Government funding Prepares monthly LHCC balance sheet GLs reconciliations (Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue) Prepares and reviews Journal Entries, prepares the monthly bad debt allocation to child care site level Prepares Account Receivable deposits, Funding List, creates cash receipts, charges and applies payments to invoices and program claims Supports the Senior Financial Analyst with monthly reconciliations and journal entries for Early ON programs, and annual reporting to funder. Supports the Senior Financial Analyst with Child Care municipal reporting and reconciliations, Year end closing and Budget Reviewing Process. Prepares audit documentation for the Child Care samples and provides support to the auditors while conducting programs audit work Perform other duties as assigned.

You bring:




Post-secondary education or courses in a related discipline or related work experience Minimum 2 years previous experience in a progressively responsible position Must be detail oriented and have analytical and financial analysis skills Excellent written, oral communication and problem-solving skills Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and make decisions to ensure requested tasks are successfully executed; can work well both independently and as part of a team Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality, using discretion and good judgement Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity Must possess strong computer skills (Advanced Excel, Word, computerized accounting package, knowledge of Access an asset) Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Not for Profit Organizations an asset Understanding of the accounting processes, from data-entry, to Financial Statements Experience in computerized accounting systems and preparing financial statements and financial reports. Experience in preparing reporting for government funding an asset Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
