Summary Of Day To Day Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing senior analysts who are completing reconciliation work, reviewing this work, reviewing public disclosures, reg returns, reconciliations, discussing with current managers other areas, adhoc work
/ Accountabilities:
  • Chief's is the Business Owner of the RWA/BCAR monthly operational activities and works closely with technology teams and the business segments to enable the monthly reporting of regulatory capital (quarterly to OSFI) under Basel III rules.
  • The Basel III reporting process is subject to continued regulatory change and is also impacted by most changes implemented throughout the Bank, including changes which are not directly related to Basel III.
  • The primary responsibility of this role to supporting the reviews of various process with the Chief's areas supporting BCAR, Pillar 3 and NCR reporting for the consolidated Bank, Corporate Segment, Canadian Personal and Business Banking. In addition, supporting certain testing for the Basel III Reforms Project.
  • This role will include the following tasks:
o Gain a thorough understanding of the consolidated Bank and business segments Basel III reporting processes including BCAR, New Credit Risk (NCR) and Pillar 3;
o Work closely with the Chief's Basel Reporting team and other departments (i.e. technology, other areas of Finance) and business segments to be able to understand the impact on regulatory reporting and operational requirements related to Basel III related projects/initiatives;
o Oversee and review various tasks within Chief's Basel Reporting for certain monthly tasks including financial reconciliation, analysis, validation of results and issues investigation.
o Complete various quarterly Pillar 3 public disclosures;
o Be involved in various testing relating to quarterly technology release or projects impacting the regulatory floor, NCR or Pillar 3; and
o Provide status updates and escalation of issues to the other Managers, Senior Manager, Chief's - Regulatory Reporting and Associate Vice-President, Chief's Regulatory Reporting.
  • Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations: Preferable candidate should be a CPA or enrolled in a professional accounting program (CPA) coupled with 8 years of financial accounting and reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of the Basel capital frameworks, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and OneSumX would be an asset.

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills, problem solving abilities and be detailed oriented.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess superior multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment delivering accurate results on a timely basis;
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, communication and Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel) skills.
  • Strong technical background and experience understanding of multi system integration.
