Finance Administrator - FTE 0.5 (17.5 Hours per week)

Background:



The Canadian Accreditation Council (CAC) is a national not-for-profit accreditation body operating in Edmonton, Alberta, offering accreditation to our standards for Health and Human Services.

Scope:



Under the direction of the Manager of Finance & HR, the Finance Administrator is responsible for ensuring the administrative and procedural requirements for finance & HR services are met on a regular basis.

Qualifications:



At least 2 years of experience related to bookkeeping or accounts payable.

Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

Knowledge of general accounting principles and best practices.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Organized, able to multitask, very motivated and a strong attention to detail.

Must be a self-starter and able to work alone or remotely.

The ability to speak French is an asset.

The incumbent to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills.

Equivalencies will be considered.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:



The key duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Receive, review, and process vendor bills and invoices in accounting software.

Track and enter credit card transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Review and process employee and volunteer expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Maintain organized electronic folders for client-specific invoicing purposes.

Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries related to accounts payable.

Attending and participating in staff meetings and required training.

Achieving and maintaining a focus to facilitate:

Remaining positive in potentially difficult situations Working with other staff to maintain the best interests of CAC Working effectively to tight deadlines
Ensuring knowledge and understanding of all relevant authorized policies, procedures and documentation requirements.

Assuming responsibility and accountability for the organization and security of data.

Adhere to, perform and action all audits as prescribed by the Manager of Finance & HR.

Support the finance department with other general accounts payable and bookkeeping tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Knowledge



The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

Minimum of 2 years' experience of bookkeeping or accounts payable

Computers, databases, software and word processing programs such as Microsoft Office, accounting software and SharePoint

Physical demands:


Normal demands associated with an office environment. The Finance Administrator will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $27,000.00 per year
