THE POSITION:
Events East Group is now inviting applications for the position of Camera Operator with our Production team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Camera Operator is responsible for video camera coverage of in-house video production for sports, concerts, meetings, and conventions.
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up and tear-down of cameras and associated equipment.
Operate video cameras for in-house video production and live events.
Take direction from producers and directors for coverage of an event.
Produce footage during \'live\' production events and \'taped\' production events.
THE PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years of Broadcast TV camera operation experience or Film production experience.
Education related to Communications, Broadcast, Film, or equivalent is preferred.
Must be available during days, evenings, and weekends.
THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and set-up camera equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time (8+ hours)
Ability to work in a busy environment with conditions that may be noisy, dark or dim, and at a height.

Events East
We manage and operate the Halifax Convention Centre, Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic. Created as part of a government partnership between the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality, we work in collaboration with them to manage our business in a responsible and transparent manner.
We were established in 2014 through legislation to operate, maintain and manage the activities of the Halifax Convention Centre in a manner that will promote and develop economic development, tourism and industry in the Province generally, and the Municipality.
Effective April 1, 2017, our mandate expanded to include the continued management and operations of Scotiabank Centre and Ticket Atlantic, formerly under Trade Centre Limited (TCL).
