Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Support Workers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly seniors and those with disabilities, by offering personalized care and support in various settings such as home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Support clients with daily living activities to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in social activities to enhance their emotional well-being. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients experiencing loneliness or isolation. Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.

Skills

Experience in home care or senior care is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with physical mobility challenges. Previous experience in caregiving or patient care settings is beneficial. Understanding of working with persons with disabilities is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
