The Role

NTFS, Canada's leading satellite and structured cabling provider, is hiring a technician based in Winnipeg (within 25 km). The position combines local work and assignments in remote communities across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot network equipment, Wi-Fi, CCTV, digital signage, and fiber optic systems. Perform structured cabling (Fiber, Cat5e/6, Coax, LMR). Install and support satellite systems (GEO VSAT and LEO: Starlink, Hughes, Intellian, Kymeta). Support 5G network installations. Operate tools, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and towing equipment in rugged conditions. Work safely at heights, in confined/restricted spaces, and outdoors in extreme cold.

What You Bring

Canadian citizenship status (mandatory).

Valid Canadian driver's license with a

minimum 5-year clean, verifiable driver's abstract issued in Canada

. Ability to obtain and maintain a

Government of Canada Security Clearance

(see below). Fall arrest, working at heights, and tower climbing certifications. Minimum 2 years' experience in satellite or related systems. Strong networking skills (wired/wireless) and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365. Independent, resourceful, and comfortable working with limited supervision.

Flexibility to travel across Canada, remain in remote regions for weeks at a time, and be dispatched with only hours' notice.

Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a

Government of Canada Security Clearance

. This requires Canadian citizenship and the ability to provide a verifiable personal background covering the last 10 years (or since the age of 16, whichever is shorter). Background checks include:
