We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician to join our team. TOP delivers integrated systems for homes, businesses, and industrial clients--from security and networks to smart automation and audio/visual solutions. We're looking for an experienced tech-savvy professional who can handle both the field and backend--from wiring cameras and setting up access control to programming networks and assisting with system designs. This role involves working on-site to install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems related to telecommunications, security, and low voltage applications. The Field Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all installations meet industry standards and client specifications. Your
Role Will Include:
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain CCTV, alarm, IP surveillance, and access control systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation of equipment.
Networking: Wi-Fi, PoE, routing, VLANs, NAS setups
Support, Program, Configure AV installations: soundbars, displays, projectors, conference setup
Prepare devices for installation
Collaborating with sales & project managers to deliver full-stack solutions
Support network infrastructure: routers, switches, access points, structured cabling
Set up and maintain Windows-based servers, NAS units, and backup solutions
Assist with system design, quoting, and site surveys
Provide tier 1-2 tech support and remote troubleshooting for clients
Maintain documentation, complete service calls, and ensure clean, professional installs
You'll succeed If You
:
Have 1+ years in a technical role (security, IT, or A/V)
Are confident with tools and tech (cloud platforms, IP setups, structured cabling)
Can work independently, document your work, and communicate well with clients
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, port forwarding, VLANs)
Experience with cloud-based platforms like Eagle Eye Networks, Brivo, Alarm.com, UniFi
Hands-on skills in wiring, mounting, and installing hardware (cameras, panels, racks)
Ability to read blueprints and floor plans; comfortable with site walks and client interaction
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Are legally able to work in Canada
