Job Information:
The overall mandate of the Field Technician, Digital Signage is to ensure the smooth operation of PATTISON Outdoor Advertising's digital network infrastructure by collaborating with other members of the NOC, other field technicians, internal departments as well as third party partners and vendors as needed. A large part of the job is to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve incidents on-site. This could be anything from diagnosing a network problem, installing mounts, replacing screens, troubleshooting video distribution systems, computers or communication equipment, configuring signage software, or applying updates.
The ideal candidate would possess a valid G class driver's license, strong knowledge of digital signage hardware and software (display technologies and standards, as well as IP based video distribution), intermediate networking skills, intermediate Windows knowledge, basic familiarity with Linux, and some computer hardware knowledge. The ideal candidate must be able to pass a thorough background check as the work would take place on federally regulated property. Part of the work would have to be done overnight. The candidate must have the ability to work on a ladder and lift 50lbs unassisted. Working at heights training would be an asset, but not necessary, as training will be provided as needed. An added bonus would be work experience at an airport, however it is not needed.
This role requires the ability to creatively solve issues and have the desire to actively learn new systems as technology evolves. A large part of the job is to be able to independently resolve issues, and the ability to identify what needs to be done to get the desired result in each situation. Attention to detail is key in documenting and analyzing information gathered during troubleshooting and problem solving just as much as the ability to 'think on your feet'.
