: $20.00-$30.00+ per hr based on experience plus overtime. 3 month probationary period.

Duties:

This position refers to working with commercial and residential gate openers/motors and access controls aka gate automation. Instrumentation is not involved.

The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and constructive criticism and be an excellent communicator with customers and their supervisors to keep the work flow moving smoothly. Someone with a self-starter attitude is preferred. The right candidate may be offered a supervisory role based on their qualifications and experience.

Daily duties will include:

Working outdoors to Install, maintain and repair automated Swing/Slide or Barrier gate components including gate operators (openers) and access controls (ie. keypads, etc) for commercial and residential clients while delivering exceptional customer service. Gate operators are powered by AC or Solar.

Inspect and test electronic & mechanical equipment and assemblies, diagnose component and equipment faults, adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment and assemblies, complete work orders and maintenance reports. Installing conduit and wiring, trenching/shoveling and auguring are a regular part of the field technician's responsibilities.

Occasional fence repairs/projects. Will train the right candidate.

Maintain a stocked and clean work vehicle at all times.

The successful candidate will have the ability to think outside of the box in this fast-paced and dynamic role. They will also have experience working with concrete, physically fit, can drive a truck and trailer; handy, knows how to operate power tools safely and maintains a clean work vehicle. Prior experience with gate automation or overhead doors, chain link fencing and/or welding are considered an asset.

Work Area:

Construction, "Installation " Inspection, Maintenance, Repair, and Restoration - Commercial and Residential.

Education

: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, good English oral and writing skills required to communicate with our customers effectively

Work Experience

: 2 years minimum

Location of work

: Primarily around the Calgary area, occasional work outside of town with advance notice.
