Service DeliveryLocation: Halifax, NSClosing Date: August 30th, 2024We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Field Support Technician to join our Modern Workplace team. Reporting to the Digital Services Support Lead, you are accountable for supporting the digital technology used by our Field and Plant staff across Nova Scotia. Key elements of this role include::Provide technical support and troubleshooting for iPhones, iPads, Windows devices, and software applications.Conduct regular visits to sites across Nova Scotia to resolve onsite technical issues and ensure optimal functionality of all devices and software.Maintain detailed records of requests and incidents and follow-up actions needed to ensure an elevated level of service and continuous improvement.Collaborate with team members and key business stakeholders to escalate and resolve complex technical issues promptly.Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, peers, and vendors.Rotational after hours on-call support including weekends and holidays and storm support as needed.Safeguarding personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. These skills will make you successful::Qualifications:Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably with a focus on mobile devices and Windows operating systems.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in the following competencies and skills:Completion of a post-secondary education technology program with at least two years of experience with Desktop and Mobile technology. You will have developed expertise in Microsoft Windows (10+), Endpoint Manager (Intune), M365 mobile apps including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and MS Authenticator. You have a high level of proficiency with Apple iOS. You have experience with wireless network technologies and are familiar with mobile device management (MDM) concepts. Experience with MDM tools, Android and Starlink would be considered an asset.You must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills and have experience handling multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast paced environment. Documentation, training, and presentation skills will be a benefit for this role. An understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) methodologies and experience with ServiceNow is highly desirable.Familiarity with field planning software used in industrial design and construction of electrical systems would be of benefit. Previous experience with ESRI mobile apps and Salesforce Field Service Mobile would be considered an asset.You must hold a valid Nova Scotia Driver\'s License with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and provide a driver\'s abstract satisfactory to NSPI.You must be flexible and be available to work irregular hours to provide support to your clients.
