TWD is currently looking for a Field Support Engineer with a Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer background to support one of our clients in the pipeline industry.

The Field Support Engineer will work in a team to oversee and be accountable for any external engineering input used for the project. The Field Support Engineer will assess projects and recommend whether resolution can be addressed by Field Support Engineering or need to be transferred to the Project Engineering team or to the Facilities Reliability team for resolution. Position is remote but would need to go to office from Nanticoke to Montreal when required.

Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):

  • Provides engineering oversight to a portfolio of Field Support Engineering projects such as project prioritization based on risk, resource assignment, stakeholder interface, and regulatory liaison.
  • Accountable for project schedules and progress, holding external and internal team(s) accountable for deliverable completion.
  • Reviews engineering deliverables completed by external and internal team(s).
  • Leads improvements in group processes and procedures and ensures they are applied consistently for all Field Support Engineering projects
  • Supports projects which are more applicable as inspections and/or Facility Integrity Management programs and coordinates the transfer of the projects to Facilities Reliability.
  • Identifies complex technical challenges that may require drawing on advanced engineering resources.
  • Provides technical support for execution of Field Support Engineering projects to Field Services.
  • Collaborates with external stakeholders such as municipalities and other infrastructure and utility companies to ensure the Company\xe2\x80\x99s asset are protected.
Qualifications include (but not limited to):
  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Applied Science. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer PEO accreditation or APEGA Accreditations (P.Eng.)
  • Minimum 6-8 years of related experience
  • Project Management and/or Project Engineering experience is preferred
  • Pipeline Operation and Maintenance experience is an asset
  • Familiar with risk assessment techniques
  • Familiar with applicable industry codes, standards, and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal/team skills
  • Must be a team player with a track record of effective implementation within a multi-disciplinary team environment
