Caribou Electric is currently seeking two (2)

Field & Shop Technicians to join our Operations team This position involves the inspection, repair, and rebuilding or electric motors, generators, and related equipment - both in the field and in the shop. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality service.

In this role, you will:

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electric motors, generators, and related equipment. Support both field service operations and shop-based rebuilds. Perform disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly or mechanical and electrical components. Maintain accurate service records and assist with parts handling, restocking, and shipping/receiving. Operate shop tools and equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes, and power tools) safely and efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

High school diploma or equivalent EMST Technician (Electrical Motor System Technician) Minimum 2 years of experience in AC/DC motor or generator repair. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely Proficient computer skills (emails, service reports, MS Word, inventory systems). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.

Preferred

Millwright or Journeyman Electrician certification (Apprentices welcome to apply) Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and diagnostics Strong communication and customer service skills

Working Conditions

Shop and field environments, including travel to customer sites Exposure to industrial equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical components Requires PPE and adherence to safety standards at all times Occasional overnight travel may be required.
