Caribou Electric is currently seeking a

Field Service Technician to join our team This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving in the field, and delivering exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Testing, rebuilding, and repairing electric motors, generators, controllers, and related equipment. Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, including emergency repairs. Delivering professional and reliable customer service to both internal and external clients. Traveling to customer sites, including occasional overnight stays, to complete service work. Performing work safely and accurately, while maintaining proper documentation of service activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

Minimum 2 years of AC and DC motor and generator repair experience. Millwright or Journeyman Electrician certification (Apprentices are welcome to apply). Ability to read, write, and communicate in a professional manner. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and reaching. Intermediate or higher-level computer skills (service reporting, work orders, email).

Preferred:

Rewind experience. Familiarity with electrical components and diagnostic procedures. Experience in both field and industrial environments.

Working Conditions

Combination of shop-based and field service work. Travel required for customer service calls. Exposure to industrial environments (noise, dust, rotating equipment). Overtime or on-call availability may be required during peak periods or emergencies.
