. While we reference municipal water systems, this position is equally involved in industrial water and fluid handling systems. The successful candidate will also support hard rock mining, oil & gas, and chemical processing accounts throughout BC, ensuring reliability and performance in some of the most demanding environments.
What You Will Do
Reporting directly to our Service Manager in Alberta, you'll be a key player in supporting both our Technical Services and Inside Sales teams. You'll provide expert, hands-on technical support to internal stakeholders and valued clients, ensuring the performance and reliability of Summit's industry-leading products.

Whether you're installing and commissioning complex valve assemblies, integrating instrumentation systems, diagnosing and repairing high-pressure systems, or collaborating with engineering teams to refine product performance, your work will directly support industries that keep our communities running.

Key Responsibilities include:
Deliver expert technical support for municipal and industrial water systems, including diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Provide hands-on guidance and training to clients. Opportunity to obtain EOCP trainer certification to support formal instruction.
Lead or assist in the installation and commissioning of
valve and instrumentation products
, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
Maintain service truck and shop inventory, ensuring readiness for field tasks and efficient repair operations.
Partner with the sales team to support customer projects, provide technical insights, and help deliver tailored solutions.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Required:
Proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment, particularly valves and automation systems.
Strong communication skills--verbal, written, and digital (including documentation in software).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint), ERP, and CRM systems.
Ability to travel extensively (50-75%), including multi-day field assignments.
Willingness to work occasional on-call and after-hours shifts (as per company policy).
Ability to meet Occupational Health and Safety (OHS
)
requirements and maintain necessary certifications for site access.
Preferred:
Instrumentation Technician diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of automatic control valves and their applications.
Familiarity with municipal water systems and infrastructure.
EOCP trainer certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience with site installation, testing, and commissioning of valve assemblies.
Work Requirements
May require occasional on-call and after-hours support (as per the policy).
Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in outdoor environments, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
Capable of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing for extended periods during field service activities.
Manual dexterity and stamina for mechanical tasks.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company-provided service truck.
Willingness and ability to travel for field service work--approximately 50% travel expected, including multi-day assignments.
Compliance with all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
