ATS Scientific is currently looking to fill the role of Field Service Engineer based out of our head office in Burlington, ON. This position provides an exciting opportunity to provide field service for customers of a dynamic, expanding company across Canada with a 35-year track record of success.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for executing the duties and responsibilities as detailed below and will align themselves with ATS' core mission of providing superior technical service to its customers.

Requirements/Competencies/Qualifications
Academic Training:
Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Mechatronics, Biotechnology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Technology required
Work Experience:
1+ years experience in an analytical laboratory or field service environment
Other Requirements:
Availability and willingness for overnight travel (domestic and international) up to 75% of the time
Valid driver's license
A personal vehicle
Valid passport (If non-Canadian passport a valid US visa is required)
Competencies:
Hands-on laboratory experience
Some level of demonstrated technical service skills
Knowledge of sample preparation/extraction techniques, spectroscopy, material characterization, and chromatography would be highly desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including a high level of professionalism
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Effective time management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks at the same time
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independently
Winning customer service attitude
General understanding of scientific and laboratory equipment industry would be an asset
Major Responsibilities
Troubleshooting instrument failures and affecting repairs
Conducting on-site or in-house repairs on laboratory equipment
Conducting on-site and remote customer training
Modifying equipment to meet CSA safety regulations
Validation of instrumentation as to manufacturer's specifications
Installation and configuration of laboratory equipment/hardware
Other additional responsibilities and duties, as required

Location: travel to customers' locations across Canada; report to the head office when not traveling to a customer site
Salary Range $58 - $65k
Total compensation commensurate to relevant experience
