Job Description

Our apprentices gain valuable experience by assisting senior technicians in maintaining, repairing, waste-handling equipment in commercial, industrial, and food-processing industries. They are well-versed in the necessary tools and equipment. Working mobile across Southern Ontario and from our home base in Etobicoke, our team handles PM services, installation, maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and rebuilding of all types of waste-handling equipment.

We're looking for technical professionals who believe in doing the job safely and correctly. This role requires drive and a strong sense of personal accountability, as you will represent U-Pak at our customers' sites while providing excellent service. If you are a lifelong learner who enjoys variety, you will excel in this role.

The Duties below include but are not limited to the following

:

Perform PM service on compactors, balers, augers, and similar waste equipment at
customer sites throughout Southern Ontario.

Ensure the safe and optimal operation of waste equipment through preventative
maintenance.

Install and remove complete waste compactor systems. Maintain the condition and readiness of company assets, including the service vehicle,
tools, and on-board inventory levels.

Always maintain a safe work environment and follow industry-standard safety practices. Ensure high-quality control of repairs to achieve a "first-time fix."

EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability and willingness to learn and receive training on proprietary waste equipment. Support the Senior Technician while developing skills to diagnose and work with up to
600V 3-phase systems and control panels.

Assist the Senior Technician and gain experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic
pumps, switches, valves, pressure settings, and cylinders.

Eagerness to learn to read and interpret electrical drawings and hydraulic system
schematics.

Familiarity with rigging and lifting concepts.

Valid G driver's license with clean driving abstract DZ license an asset Willing to work in all weather conditions year-round Able to read and write English Physically fit & capable to regularly lift 50 lbs Must be available to work on-call one weekend per month

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 - 50 per week
