The Next Step Agency is seeking a Field Sales & Merchandising Representative. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, organized individual who thrives in an independent work environment while building meaningful relationships with electrical wholesaler branches.
As a hands-on field representative, you'll work directly with major electrical wholesalers throughout the Lower Mainland to promote our product lines, support sell-through, and ensure optimal product presentation. You'll build strong relationships with branch staff, execute merchandising programs, conduct product training, and identify opportunities to expand sales, strengthen category performance, and enhance overall branch engagement.

BC only -- Lower Mainland: North Vancouver ? Burnaby/Tri-Cities ? Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows ? Langley ? Abbotsford ? Chilliwack
This is a field-first role with frequent branch visits throughout the region.
What You'll Do
Territory Sales Growth
Execute a structured branch call cycle; run counter mornings, trainings, and follow-ups.
Present stocking lists, min/max, and promo bundles; drive category adoption and line share.
Branch Support & Merchandising
Review in-branch stock levels and identify gaps or opportunities for growth.
Ensure displays and promotional materials are current, visible, and aligned with branch needs.
Support product launches, monthly promotions, and visual improvements where needed.
Account Enablement
Build strong relationships with branch teams, including counter staff and sales representatives.
Coordinate promotions, counter days, and vendor events to drive engagement and awareness.
Reporting
Log visits, photos, opportunities, and next steps using sales or CRM software.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), promotional lift, and overall branch activity.
Qualifications
Reliable, personally owned vehicle and valid driver's license for all sales calls.
2-5+ years in wholesale distribution, electrical/industrial sales, or retail merchandising.
Strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
Ability to recognize product opportunities and communicate solutions effectively.
Comfortable lifting up to ~40-50 lbs for displays and merchandising tasks.
Legal permission to work in Canada; valid Work Permit and Social Insurance Number required.
Proficiency with sales, CRM, and software tools (e.g., Excel/Sheets, Outlook, Teams/Drive).

Timely reporting and photo documentation of visits, opportunities, and results.

Compensation & Schedule
Employment Type: Part-time, field-based position
Schedule: Flexible hours Monday to Friday (approximately 24 hours per week), with occasional adjustments for branch events or travel as needed
Compensation: $20.00 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement and pre-approved business expenses
