Viterra is seeking a Field Representative. The successful candidate is accountable to develop a customer base within a geographical area to source edible beans for delivery. In addition, this position is accountable for obtaining business results as established through business planning and goal setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for managing a client base within an area to meet and exceed area sales, and financial, and operating targets.
• Pro-actively seek to become involved in the business decision-making process of targeted customers.
• Maintain and analyze a database/record of customer profiles in order to identify, categorize, and prioritize customer contacts.
• Arrange for customer learning opportunities that provide incremental value.
• Keep informed of competitor activities within the market area, and recommend marketing program and service revisions.
• Coordinate the movement of grain and related administrative requirements in conjunction with customers and operations staff.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships with current and potential future customers.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Efficient in MS office and experience utilizing relevant computer software programs.
• Proven experience in customer service or sales capacity.

Education and Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agri-business and/or other related customer service function.
• Certificate in Agriculture, Agri-Business Certificate, or equivalent post-secondary education.
• Designation as a Professional Agronomist would be preferred.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
