This role reports to the Medical Strategy Head and is responsible for the tactical implementation of the medical strategy and collaborates with the Immunology Medical team and other members of the iPVU cross-functional team. This individual will be required to have an impactful field presence and maintain customer relationships with identified key stakeholders. Additionally, maintaining the highest level of disease and product knowledge.

About the role:

The Field Medical Lead (Immunology) will lead a therapeutically aligned Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Team and provide senior medical presence, leadership, coaching, and accountability to drive individual and team results. He/she will have leadership responsibilities related to the recruitment, development, and management of MSLs in their respective area. This individual will be required to have a field presence and maintain customer relationships with stakeholders.

The Field Medical Lead will lead, inspire, and model cooperative teamwork behaviors that enables their MSL team to be accountable for creating (in collaboration with the local cross functional therapeutic area team) & coordinating field medical strategies and executing tactics independently as part of the medical function.

The Field Medical Lead will foster collaboration to advance local patient value-orientated initiatives with key stakeholders. The Field Medical Lead will ensure UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards. The expectation is that compliance is a part of how we operate.

Who you\xe2\x80\x99ll work with:

The Field Medical Lead will establish a presence within the region with external stakeholders (e.g., opinion leaders, advocacy leads, key decision makers) through regular participation in conferences and field meetings with their MSLs.

What you\'ll do:

  • Develop & implement aligned MSL training curriculums in partnership with the Medical Strategy Head.
  • Coach and model high impact medical engagement, delivery, and scientific & clinical differentiation of TA.
  • Lead, inspire, and model cooperative teamwork behaviors that enables their MSL team to be accountable for creating (in collaboration with the local cross functional therapeutic area team) & coordinating medical strategies and executing tactics independently as part of the medical function.
  • Provide key input for medical/MSL plans execution for ensuring the best leverage of medical engagements and customer facing tactics and in a compliant manner.
  • Source, interpret & share insights and local gaps/needs to inform global/regional field medical excellence plans and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated medical affairs/ leadership experience or/and 3+ years effectively managing a field medical team.
  • This is a field role with a national scope therefore willingness to travel on regular basis is needed; bilingual fluency is an asset.
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic medical planning, tactical plan development and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and diplomatic skills that will allow relationships with both diverse internal and external medical and scientific experts, as well as brand team members.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing, developing, coaching, and influencing teams in matrix environment.
  • Strong multi-tasking, time & project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to actively listen and process information to identify opportunities.
  • PhD, PharmD or MD degree preferred.
