The Opportunity:

Canadian Natural is looking for a Field Analyst to provide IT support to our Grande Prairie North field offices and sites and surrounding areas. We are looking for someone with a broad skillset that includes hardware deployments and maintenance, desktop support, and network maintenance and support.

Reporting to the Field Support Lead, the Grande Prairie Field Support Analyst role is to provide hardware and software support for remote field offices and sites in the Grande Prairie, Central Alberta and NE British Columbia regions. In this role, you will interact with Operations staff, as well as other groups within Information Systems (IS). The Field Support Analyst will be required to travel extensively (company-supplied vehicle) with some overnight stays in hotels and/or camps.

The role of the Field Support team is to provide IS support to our clients in field operations. The Field Support team works closely with our Service Desk, Deskside, Development, Network, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Hardware and Server teams to identify, communicate and resolve IT problems for users in the field.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide second and third level IT support to CNRL Field users
  • Regular travel to remote locations, as well as scheduled monthly travel to major field offices
  • Assist Windows Server Analysts in server hardware installation, maintenance and decommissioning
  • Assist in the support of wireless radio networks
  • Assist in the support of the network infrastructure with our Network team
  • Perform project work to evaluate and/or implement software/hardware installations
  • Create and maintain documentation for the field infrastructure and facilities
  • Maintain IS standards across all offices and facilities
  • Assist with company-wide software updates
  • Physical deployment of workstations, servers, printers and other IS equipment (some heavy-lifting required)

  • Shift schedule: 5x2 \xe2\x80\x93 Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Sciences
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
  • H2S Alive and First Aid certification an asset
  • Technical certifications such as MCSE, CNE, CNA and ITIL an asset
  • Valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and clean driving record required
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Remote Access, network hardware, printer support and IT related technologies

  • Effective written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
