Reporting to the Director of Marine Construction, the
Field Engineer
is a critical member of the heavy lift and marine construction team. The Field Engineer will function as a field supervisor and may at times have the responsibility for multiple foreman and/or craft workers. The Field Engineer will be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship and assignment of work to accomplish the execution of the work, either directly or indirectly through the Foreman. As the on-site Dynamic representative, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the Dynamic brand through positive working relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and field crews and staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Mentor and help to grow fellow Dynamic staff
Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
Assist in compiling, processing and confirming daily timesheets
Assist in development, submission and processing of extra work orders
Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)
Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on-site
Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
Review, and assist in the negotiation of change orders
Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
Maintain daily diary for record-keeping purposes
Order, schedule and inspect material deliveries
Work independently and efficiently to carry out assignments from start to finish, meeting client commitments in a timely and accurate manner and within budget constraints.
Incorporate health, safety, quality, and environment expectations into the planning of all projects and work.
Visibly promote heath, safety, quality, and environment in the workplace through actions, example, and attitude.
Represent Dynamic to the public in a manner consistent with the company values and goals.
Qualifications, Experience and Skill Set
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related degree
3-5 years of experience working in Infrastructure/Heavy Civil construction environment preferred.
Interest in heavy civil/marine construction, such as marine, bridges, canals, dams, tunnels, earthwork, structural concrete, pipelines, etc.
Committed to the construction industry and not the design industry - this is a boot's on, hands-on, construction career.
Knowledge and passion for construction safety
The ability to access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates, environments, and terrain.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done. This position will require more than 40 hours/week.
Working knowledge of computers and experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must possess valid Class 5 Driver's License and be able to travel to sites across region.
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Maintain equipment and promptly report any damage or maintenance issues.
Flexibility with hours works, including overtime, night and weekend work as needed.

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
