We are currently providing an opportunity for a well-rounded, technical minded, customer satisfaction focused professional to join our team in the position of Field Engineer. The role will be stationed at our Corporate office in Truro, NS but in addition to the heavy travel requirements will have the option to work remotely when not traveling to operation sites or the manufacturing facility. The position will report directly to the Manager of Engineering.

About the Position:

The Field Engineer will be the primary technical support Engineer for our fluid processing equipment within Inland Technologies\xe2\x80\x99 Engineering Department. The position will be responsible for providing technical support to our operation sites on all aspects of our fluid processing equipment as well as identifying and implementing improvements. The role will require a large amount of travel to our sites in Canada and the US providing hands on support. The remaining time will be spent fulfilling technical duties remotely from home, at our manufacturing facility and our corporate office.

With the wealth of practical knowledge gained in this role we see opportunity to develop into a key member of the corporate Engineering Team, developing new products and processes that will play a critical role in the companies growth and success.

Engineering is strategic to Inland\xe2\x80\x99s overall success. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide direct technical support to our operating sites related to our fluid processing equipment such as trouble shooting, root cause investigation and recommendations for operational improvements;
  • Identify re-occurring problems and develop short term solutions to implement on existing units in operation;
  • Function as a central resource who brings information from multiple sources and develops a consensus on an appropriate path forward;
  • Develop a solid understanding of equipment performance and provide data for setting performance expectations;
  • Develop best practices and technical communications from information learned from multiple sites;
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP`s) for key maintenance and repair;
  • Provide technical support which will include site integration challenges such as power supply issues, fluid conditioning, etc.;
  • Develop long term technical improvements which can be implemented at the manufacturing facility;
  • Act as the technical liaison with the broader Engineering team to develop a roadmap for ongoing development of equipment.
Please Note: Approximately 50% to 60% of time will be spent traveling including overnight travel.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, or a technical diploma in the mechanical or fluid processing field;
  • 2 \xe2\x80\x93 7 years of experience in the engineering field;
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to engage in hands-on development;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interpret information, promote and execute ideas, prepare reports and presentations, lead groups and provide foundation of open communication;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to liaise between sites and the Engineering team;
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities;
  • Interested and willing to travel across North America;
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
