We are currently seeking energetic, career-minded individual for the role of a Field Coordinator, Private Locates for our Private Locates Department.The primary focus of the Field Coordinator, Private Locates is the effective coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Private Damage Prevention Technicians (DPT) and the projects they are assigned. The Field Coordinator, Private Locates will monitor DPTs in the field, while planning and scheduling their day-to-day activities in a safe and efficient manner and assist the Manager, Private Locate Operations to drive improvements and enhance the success & stability of the DPTs and the Private Locates Department. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced work environment.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, Innovate and Commit to Excellence.
  • Assist in maintaining staffing levels and participating in recruiting, orientation, and training employees.

  • Support team members in field through teaching, guiding, and auditing.
  • Monitor performances and report any issues to the department Manager, Private Locate Operations
  • Complete daily work assignment and scheduling of work.
  • Assist staff on difficult locates as required.
  • Investigate customer complaints and private damage investigations and quality issues
  • Coordinate the assigning of equipment and supplies to locate staff so as to ensure all workers have the appropriate equipment in good working condition.
  • Move speciality equipment from shop location to shop location when necessary.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with Manager, Private Locate Operations to resolve any issues.
  • Fosters high quality customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service issues; identifying trends; recommending improvements.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.
  • Assist the Manager, Private Locate Operations with the field execution of new service offerings and locating equipment.
  • Work with the Manager, Private Locate Operations to identify trends within the private locate industry.
  • Any day-to-day situations that arise requiring the attention of a Coordinator.
  • Support the Quality Management System, reviewing QA non-conformances with individual DPTs.
  • Attend meetings with new and existing customers.
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and PVS Contractors Inc.'s Policies and Procedures. It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain applicable health and safety information from your supervisor.
  • Other duties assigned by Manager, Private Locate Operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to the job function or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Satisfactory driver and criminal background certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Locator/Damage Prevention Technician
  • Experience in all utilities within PVS Contractors Inc. is an asset
WORK EXPEREIENCE
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in the locating industry or similar work experience in administration and customer service preferred.
  • Strong computers skills will be an asset - proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience gathering data, performing analysis, developing detailed reports and presentations
SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Locator/Damage Prevention Technician (focus on Private Locates an asset)
  • Experience working with Utility Locating Policy and Procedures
  • Excellent Quality and Safety Record
  • Supervisory or Management experience preferred

Additional InformationTravel is required as projects will be located throughout geographic region. A company vehicle and gas card are provided for business purposes.Physical DemandsThe Field Coordinator, Private Locates must be able to perform the physical demands of the position's work tasks and must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. This includes but not limited to, using a shovel, movement of equipment and/or materials; ability to carry equipment (transmitter and receiver) up to 20 lbs., walking ditches, walking on uneven surfaces and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.All qualifying candidates will be contacted for an interview.
