The Fiddlehead Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for leading the Fiddlehead Cafe by prioritizing consistency and ensuring guests are provided with a pleasant dining experience. The FH Supervisor is responsible to supervise FH kitchen, assist in daily operations, assist in menu preparation as directed from the Kitchen Manager, ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining ambiance, and building and maintaining rapport with casino guests.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Fiddlehead kitchen, schedules, staffing, and leave requests
Train and develop Fiddlehead Kitchen staff in coherence with company expectations
Manage and document performance reviews and disciplinary action in accordance with the Human Resources Department
Resolve conflicts and coach employees, when needed
Ensure client-oriented customer service
Prepare menu suggestions and weekly specials
Possess full knowledge of the Totem Rewards benefits and slot promotions
Manage the set up and maintenance of all FH service and preparation areas
Manage the receipt of deliveries to the FH Kitchen
Ensure guests are satisfied
Assist with event catering, when needed
Engage in the daily operations
Support during peak times and undertake any operational duty which might be reasonably required to ensure customer expectations are met
Create, organize and plan for company growth (breakfast buffet, quick meals, etc) with Kitchen Manager's
Maintain a food safety certification up to date
Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products
Adhere to all company and department policies, procedures and internal controls
Support the management team during their absences or vacations when necessary
Other duties as reasonable and assigned
Working Conditions
May be required to stand, sit, or bend for extended periods of time
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Must be available to work a rotating shift support the Casino hours of operations (holidays and weekend included)
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications Required
Must be 19 years or over
Post-secondary education in Business Management, Restaurant, Hospitality or an equivalent combination of education and experience
The ability to lead, delegate, and motivate others
Excellent computer skills
Exceptional experience in customer service
A good head for business development
Strong organizational and team-working skills
The ability to work to deadlines and cope with the consequent pressure
The energy and enthusiasm to deal with employees
Food safety training would be considered an asset
Expert level Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)
Additional Experience:
3+ years in Restaurant Management
