Job Title: FRP Technician 1
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Non-Exempt Position
Location: Maple Ridge, BC Canada
The FRP Technician I is responsible for assisting in the fabrication, installation, and repair of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) linings and components used in industrial applications. This entry-level role supports senior technicians and production staff in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation and welding of FRP linings and components in FRP and thermoplastic lined vessels and tanks.
Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and plastic welding equipment under supervision.
Prepare surfaces and materials for bonding using sanding, grinding, and cleaning techniques.
Apply epoxy resin and adhesives to bond FRP sheets to substrates.
Inspect completed work for structural accuracy and quality compliance.
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to coveralls, hardhats, safety glasses, half/full face masks, gloves etc.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Support senior technicians in troubleshooting and resolving fabrication issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:
Must hold Canadian Citizenship (for work travel purposes, company is not looking to sponsor PR applications at this time).
Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
Ability to use basic measuring tools and hand tools.
Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Willing and able to work in an environment that can be cold and/or hot, humid, dusty, and noisy.
Willing and able to adhere to safe work practices, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Willing to be a contribution-minded member of a high-performing team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in plastic welding, carpentry, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
Two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
