Additional weeks, ending May 3, 2024, is pending the approval of Ottawa Festivals fiscal year (2024-2025) JCP program agreement with the Province of Ontario.Work Location: Arts Court, 2 Daly AveJob Summary: This position is funded through Ontarios Job Creation Partnership(see more details below).The IFFO is Ottawas newest film festival hosted by the Canadian Film Institute featuring Ottawa premieres of films found on the screens of such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, and TIFF. The Festival includes 30+ film screenings, filmmaker talks, and industry events Screen Summit and Save As. The IFFO Logistics and Travel Assistant will report to the Managing Director while acting as the liaison between the festival and special guests helping to organize travel and assist with general festival logistics.Responsibilities: Working with both the Film Operations and the Industry Events teams, be the main liaison between the festival and invited filmmakers and guests. With the assistance of the Managing Director, arrange guest and filmmaker travel, hotels and ground transportation leading up to and during the event. Help to gather technical, logistical, and promotional requirements and information for all presentations and workshops. Assist the Film Operations and Industry Events teams to gather information needed to pay artist fees and film rentals Help to gather information about selected films and other promotional materials. Assist with travel promotions for the public and work with hotels and the hospitality industrySkills and Qualifications: Excellent communication and people skills (verbal and written) Good organizational skills and initiative, attention to detail and accuracy; able to consistently meet deadlines Have a love for planning travel and flights online Have a passion for spreadsheets French language fluency (verbal and written) is an asset Have an interest in learning about event and project management; experience working in customer service is an asset Strong computer skills: ability to quickly learn new programs/platforms and take initiative to troubleshootAdditional Qualifications Required:Eligible to participate in Ontarios Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)2. Live in Ontario3. Legally authorized to work in Canada4.
