Addiction Rehab Toronto is seeking a compassionate and experienced
female Addictions Counsellor
to join our dedicated clinical team. This role involves providing trauma-informed, client-centered care to women and individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of addiction, mental health, and gender-responsive care, and will be committed to supporting clients on their journey toward lasting recovery and personal transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and group counselling to female clients in residential treatment.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and client needs.
Facilitate psychoeducation and therapy groups related to addiction, trauma, relationships, and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinical staff, case managers, and health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Document client progress, treatment goals, and discharge planning in a timely and accurate manner.
Support relapse prevention, harm reduction education, and healthy coping strategies.
Advocate for client needs and ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive therapeutic environment.
Participate in case conferences, supervision, and professional development.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Social Work, Addictions Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in addiction and mental health settings.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and gender-responsive approaches.
Familiarity with co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and relapse prevention strategies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
Current CPR/First Aid certification and a valid vulnerable sector check.
Registration with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO) is an asset.
